HVAC Estimator

Magnolia Companies has an immediate opening for an HVAC Estimator in our Washington DC office. Our work covers a vast array of high-profile clients in a wide variety of projects including, but not limited to, government local & federal, schools, healthcare, multi-family, pharmaceutical and medical manufacturing. In this role, you will prepare and submit bids for opportunities ranging from $25,000 to $3M.

Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and pricing retrofit, plan/specs.
• Design - build projects for plumbing and mechanical scopes.
• Read & review job bid instructions, drawings and specifications.
• Preparing accurate take-off and compiling pricing.
• Utilize software/quick-pen to build estimates (I.E. Bluebeam, Trimble or PlanSwift).
• Work in a team-oriented environment to transition awarded projects to the Project Manager.
• Manage various RFPs (request for proposals).

• Valid driver’s license.
• Preferred education in Construction Management.
• Preferred journeyman or master license in HVAC a plus.
• 3- 5 years of related experience in the Mechanical & Plumbing estimating process.
• Reliable, detailed oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling several tasks.
• Strong administrative and computer skills for preparing proposals, scopes of work, and schedules.  
• Proficient in reading & interpreting architectural and MEP drawings.
• Understand labor units, productivity factors, subcontractor coordination, and material pricing.
• Ability to attend and document findings from job walks and pre-bid site visits.
